Lisa and Nicolas’s hot wedding by Moshe Zusman Photography
It was a hot one. A very hot one. But not even the heat stopped Nicolas and Lisa from having a blast at their wedding last Saturday. The festivities took place at the historic Belmont Conference Center, located in Elkridge, Maryland surrounded by the Patapsco State Park. Set atop rolling meadows and alongside beautiful gardens, the venue proved to be a stunning location for a summer wedding, and a perfect spot for lots of beautiful photos of the bride and groom and their wedding party. Enjoy a few of my favorite snapshots. Special thanks to my friend Paul Price of PSQuardPhotographic for second shooting the wedding with me. Great times, as always!
And here’s something new: I often get asked by photographers about my post production techniques and the gear that I used, so I’m going to add to every new blog post some info on gear and techniques.
For this wedding, I used my favorite camera bodies, my two Canon EOS 1D Mark IV. For detail shots I used Canon’s new Macro lens, the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. For the “getting ready” photos in the bridal suite, I used EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM and mainly my favorite lens, the http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/ef_lens_lineup/ef_50mm_f_1_2l_usm. Canon’s 50mm simply produces the most amazing bokeh and great DOF for details photos and portraits. 24-70 is also a super sharp lens that I love using indoor for a mix of portraits and detail photos.
For the outdoor portraits and the ceremony, I used Canon’s latest upgraded spectacular lens, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM. It’s a amazingly sharp and fast focusing and gets me the intimate closeups I need with a comfortable distance from whoever I photograph.
Lastly, I used the EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM and with that wide angle lens, you better hide behind me if you don’t want to get caught in it since it’s a super wide prime lens with amazing sharpness to it.
