September 22: Lights, Camera, Taxes!
Often, numbers and artists don’t mix. But in order to run a successful photography business, you need to have your finances in order. Moshe Zusman Workshops is offering a new, specialized class that focuses on accounting specifically for photographers.
Whether your photography business is a primary or secondary source of income, there are a number of important accounting and tax items that can seriously impact your business. Regardless of how much or little you earn, this seminar will help you avoid common accounting pitfalls and help you make savvy decisions when it comes to your finances.
In a very entertaining and informative format, certified accountant Michael Fine will show you the basics of how to track your income and expenses, manage invoices for your clients, and give you easy to follow tips on what you can and cannot deduct for tax purposes. You will see a live demonstration of how to get started using QuickBooks and how to set up your specific business elements inside the program. We will also discuss how to set up and maintain a studio in your home, how to use your automobile as a business expense and–most of all–how to keep your hard earned money in your pocket and not watch it fly out the window every tax season.
The tax code changes constantly. Don’t get left behind. This seminar will provide accounting tips and strategies to help you stay ahead of the curve while giving you the peace of mind to finally stop guessing and begin to get your finances in order. All participants in the class will also receive a free one on one consultation with Michael (a $250 value)!
When: September 22, from 6 to 9 p.m.

April 2: Camera Gear “Garage” Sale
Ok, we may not actually have a garage, but
we know that a lot of people have gear they’d like to sell, buy or trade. This event will be like a live-action version of Craig’s List, without all the creeps!
It’s easy for sellers: Just RSVP on this facebook page for a spot to bring your gear—you pick the price, negotiate with the buyers, and walk off with the cash. Bring your gear as early as 11am.
Buyers: Show up, browse, do a little wheelin’ and dealin’ and hopefully pick up something you need.
Just so you know… We are not responsible for any transactions made, those are between the buyers and sellers directly. We are just providing space for the event.
March 16th: Learn How to Light Up Any Venue – free demo for pro photographers!

The weather’s getting warmer and there’s a faint smell of cake in the air, which can only mean one thing…wedding season is right around the corner! But are you prepared?
Does this sound familiar: You can create cool getting ready photos in your sleep. Shooting the ceremony is a piece of cake. You’re producing portraits that are out of this world. But then you get to the reception and it’s dark. REALLY, REALLY DARK. So you settle for bright white faces and backgrounds with no detail. You have no choice but to crank the ISO, blast away with your flash, and hope for the best, right?
Absolutely, not. There’s a better way!
Come learn the tricks behind creating beautiful, even light in any location. Moshe Zusman Photography Studio is holding a free demo to help demystify the dreaded dark reception venue, so you can get the shots you want—every time!
